About

Learn more about our church by checking out our spotlight!

The Church in Cherkasy is pastored by Viktor with the support of his wife Nadiia. After becoming ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ukraine, Viktor moved to Cherkasy to plant a new church in 2007.

Because the economic situation in Ukraine during the war is very difficult, Viktor currently does not have employment outside the church. Together, Viktor and Nadiia are actively involved in the Christian Homeschooling movement in Ukraine, helping local families and conducting regular HS seminars. They are committed to Sunday services and ask people to pray that they could reach those who don’t know about our Lord through Bible Study groups. For several years, the church building provided shelter for refugees.

Currently, the church continues to support refugee families affiliated with it. Additionally, the church is prepared to welcome missionaries from the United States who are willing to assist in the development of Christianity in Cherkasy.

Viktor and Nadiia have been married for over three decades, and have two grown daughters: Kate and Paulina, and four adorable grandchildren.

Pray for

  • Our preparations for Easter, and for the opportunity to testify about the risen Lord to the residents of our city and to the guests of the church whom God will send to us.
  • One of our church members who recently lost her husband (complications after a heart transplant). Pray that her spirit will be comforted and that our church community will support and love her well.
  • The safety of our city, the church, and the people during air raids. That any destruction would not take people’s lives.

Praise for

  • We have completed our study of the book of Habakkuk in our Sunday sermons, and it has been an encouragement to us, as the events in the book are very similar to what is happening in Ukraine.
  • The church-wide Bible study group on “Gospel Christianity.”  Thanks to a greater availability of electricity, we have resumed evening gatherings and more people are able to join us in studying Scripture.
  • Making it through this winter, even though there were problems with the availability of electricity and heat.
