The Church in Cherkasy is pastored by Viktor with the support of his wife Nadiia. After becoming ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ukraine, Viktor moved to Cherkasy to plant a new church in 2007.

Because the economic situation in Ukraine during the war is very difficult, Viktor currently does not have employment outside the church. Together, Viktor and Nadiia are actively involved in the Christian Homeschooling movement in Ukraine, helping local families and conducting regular HS seminars. They are committed to Sunday services and ask people to pray that they could reach those who don’t know about our Lord through Bible Study groups. For several years, the church building provided shelter for refugees.

Currently, the church continues to support refugee families affiliated with it. Additionally, the church is prepared to welcome missionaries from the United States who are willing to assist in the development of Christianity in Cherkasy.

Viktor and Nadiia have been married for over three decades, and have two grown daughters: Kate and Paulina, and four adorable grandchildren.

Pray for

Protection during air raids. Our city has very little aerial protection from the russian onslaught of missiles and drones. Please pray for God’s protection of our church, congregants, and city.
Due to the constant air raids, public school education has been severely disrupted with many students not being able to attend school in person or being constantly sent to a bomb shelter and disrupting the learning process. Pray for our children and also for our outreach to families who have turned to home education.
Our winter preparations. Attacks have hit for storage facilities, energy and transport networks. Combined with increased prices, everyone is very concerned about winter. Pray that the city, our church, and our families will be able to make preparations and that God would preserve the heating and electric grid.

Praise for

Completing the “Gospel Christianity” course. Pray that we will be able to apply the knowledge we gained in practice.
Being able to use the church premisis as a temporaary accomodation for those in need.
The ability to continue to gather and meet to worship God, despite the war.
