Mykolaiv Presbyterian
Pastor Andrey and his family

About

The Church in Mykolaiv is small, but working hard for the kingdom. Located near Kherson and near the front lines, the church uses all of its time and resources to deliver humanitarian aid to surrounding villages and also share the hope of Christ with them.

Since Kherson Church currently doesn’t have a pastor, Andrii travels the one hour journey to Kherson on roads that are full of potholes from shelling and on which a can quickly come into the line of fire or become a target for a drone.

While many of the church members who were in the church before the war are gone, the church has gained new members who now come to worship at this, their closest church or before they move on from Mykolaiv to greater safety in the West.

Pray for

  • Improvement of the water and electricity supply in the city.
  • The continued protection of the church building from shelling.
  • Wisdom and provision for renovating the church or finding a larger, more suitable meeting place
  • The Lord to continue to bring new people to the groups and to the church.
  • A 3-day, spring break event for the children in our city the week leading up to Easter. The area where our city is often seems very closed to emotional and spiritual support. Please pray for the helpers and for open minds and hearts of the children and their parents.
  • God’s continued shield of protection over Pastor Andrey as he travels the very dangerous roads to preach in Kherson

Praise for

  • Getting through winter alive and well.
  • The women’s prayer breakfast, an inter- church gathering where we pray for the Ukrainian people, military and children, for all the needs of our country, went well and was a great encouragement
  • The women’s seminar at the Lutheran church brought 30 women together to learn about Biblical Womanhood. We had a lively conversation with them, prayed and had the opportunity to share the Gospel.
  • Pastor Andrii’s continued safety while travelling back and forth to Kherson
  • The continuance of men’s and women’s Bible Study Groups.
