Zaporizhizhia Presbyterian

About

The Church in Zaporizhzhia is a church plant right in the middle of an active war zone. While there was a larger group before the full-scale invasion, this community of believers now just has two families. They meet together for prayer and join the Kharkiv church online to worship. When Pastor Serheii is able, he travels from Kharkiv to minister to them.

You have probably heard of Zaporizhzhia in the news due to the nuclear power plant. This city is very much in the line of fire and needs the prayers of the saints to encourage the believers, to give wisdom to the leaders, and to ask God’s preserving hand to protect them.

Pray for

  • Safety -Everyday and all day there is shelling. We might have a pause of only 15 or 20 minutes. Our side of the river used to be quieter, but now there are hits each day. Apartment buildings and civilians are being hit.
  • Our ability to cope – Electricity is currently on a schedule. We have a gas heater, but we need electricity to run the pump that circulates the heat.
  • We fetch water from the river for household use, but we are very near the dam and the water goes very quickly with all manner of debris at times. We boil water and purchase water for drinking.
  • A lasting and just peace
  • For God to take care of our present and our future and give us spiritual and emotional rest in the midst of war.

Praise for

  • Our lives and our homes are protected! Praise God! While the war rages around us, we trust His provision.
  • Being protected so far – for the safety of our children and grandchildren.
  • For the faithfulness of God, who sustains us and has ensured us everlasting life and forgiveness of sins through the death and resurrection of his son, Jesus Christ.
  • For those who pray for us and encourage us.
Copies of Spurgeon for us and to give to others and to encourage us
Pastor Sergii from Kharkiv comes when he can to lead us in worship in person.
