Kyiv - Presbyterian Church of the Holy Trinity
Pastor Ivan Bespalov and his wife Lucia

About

Holy Trinity is the oldest Presbyterian church planted in Kyiv.  Envisaged as a city center church, it serves a diverse group of people from across the city. Since the war, they have been meeting in the seminary building. Many members have been called up to serve or are unable to attend morning worship due to the war.

Pastor Ivan Bespalov studied physics and came to faith while working as a translator for missionaries. Called to share the good news, he became ordained in 1997 and has been preaching at Holy Trinity Kyiv Presbyterian since 1998. He and his wife Luciia have two, grown sons and a daughter-in law.

Pray for

  • The families of the 24 people killed in the Kyiv apartment flat on May 14th and the numerous others killed and injured on the 24th. Pray that God would bring comfort and healing and eternal knowledge and salvation in Him.
  • Our men and women serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine- and especially those who are captured POWS – that God would protect them.
  • The men’s group to be able to continue to regularly meet and grow spiritually together.
  • The worship group to continue to develop and serve to the Glory of God.
  • The elderly and ill in our congregation who are unable to come to services and participate in our worship in person – pray that they will not feel alone and will know God’s presence.

Praise for

  • The safety of our congregation and the building where we meet, despite the horrendous attacks of May 24th.
  • The ability of our church to gather and worship God.
  • The advent of new members and visitors to our church who want to learn more about our community and Christ.
  • The many volunteers who help facilitate our service by helping with the media desk – enabling sound, internet transmission, and overhead projections.
  • All of the soldiers serving to keep us safe and defend Ukraine from our enemy.

We are so thankful for our praise band!
Visiting one of our congregants - she is homebound but happy to share her faith with all who ask - even two separate news organizations who were covering the impact of russia's attacks on the elderly.
