About

Redeemer is a church-planting work that began the summer right before COVID hit. While we haven’t yet reached a critical mass to begin services, we have a faithful group of believers for fellowship, prayer, and Bible Study each week.

 

When the full-scale war began, some of our women sought safety in other countries. In order to encourage one another, the group continues to meet on-line via Zoom and in a hybrid in-person/online format when the Rev. Alister Torrens is in the country (around 20 Sundays throughout the year). This Bible study remains a central part of fellowship. Our members who fled the country also appreciate being able to worship in a familiar language.

Pray for

  • Our ability to meet in person in October.
  • The safety of members, friends, and family. Attacks on Kyiv have been frequent over the summer and especially brutal the last few weeks, with many being in areas where our members live.
  • Health and the ability to work and afford monthly living costs.
  • The peace of God to fill the hearts of each of our members – whether it be fear from the enemy, or of the front line, or of want, may God provide for each daily and fill them with peace.
  • One of our members to be able to sell their apartment at a reasonable price so that his family can afford housing in the country to which they have evacuated.
  • Documents to be properly recorded for members who have been granted service exceptions so that they won’t be picked up by draft agents.

Praise for

  • Our veteran has just had an operation on each eye, that has very dramatically restored his vision. This is a huge answer to the prayers of the church for some time.
  • God providing safety to everyone in the congregation during attacks.
  • The ability to gather together to read and study Scripture and the catechism even in a virtual format.
